On Thursday, May 9, 2024, the ONOMO Hotel in Kampala was the stage for an extraordinary night of music and entertainment. The event, part of the inaugural “Revealed” series, featured the electrifying live performance of Tyra Chantey, a talented Ugandan/Swedish recording artist.

The evening commenced at 7:00 PM, as guests began to fill the elegant venue, eagerly anticipating the night ahead. Tyra Chantey took to the stage with an energy that immediately captivated the audience. Her powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence created an atmosphere that was both intimate and exhilarating. Throughout the performance, Tyra was joined by her father, Kenso Daniels Kayongo, whose presence added a heartfelt dimension to the show. The father-daughter duo performed a series of duets that showcased their deep musical connection and left the audience in awe.

The four-hour event, which concluded at 11:00 PM, was a resounding success, with attendees reveling in the spectacular music and vibrant ambiance. Admission for the evening was priced at UGX 100,000, with VIP tables available for UGX 1,000,000. Sarah Mulindwa, a UK based Ugandan sexual health nurse and media personality, delivered a poignant keynote speech at the Brave Girls Fest, held at the International University of East Africa on September 28, 2022. The event, organized by Reach A Hand Uganda and its partners, aimed to empower the girl child and promote sexual reproductive health.

Mulindwa’s speech tackled critical issues affecting young people, including unwanted pregnancies, HIV and AIDS, harmful myths, and healthy relationships. She emphasized the importance of comprehensive sexual education, debunking misconceptions and promoting fact-based knowledge.
“We need to normalize conversations about sex and sexuality,” Mulindwa stressed. “Young people have the right to accurate information, enabling them to make informed decisions about their bodies and lives.”

Mulindwa addressed the alarming rate of unwanted pregnancies in Uganda, highlighting the need for accessible contraception and safe abortion services. She also discussed the stigma surrounding HIV and AIDS, emphasizing the importance of testing, treatment, and support. The sexual health nurse and celebrity also tackled harmful myths and misconceptions, promoting a science-based understanding of sexual health. She encouraged the audience to prioritize healthy relationships, built on mutual respect, consent, and communication. Through her keynote speech and teachings, Mulindwa offered practical solutions and empowering messages, inspiring young people to take control of their sexual health and well-being. Her dedication to promoting sexual wellness and reproductive health continues to make a positive impact, shaping a healthier and more informed society.

We all got ready and popped the cork and cheered on Sheilah Gashumba, the vibrant ‘it’ girl and daughter of Frank Gashumba, as she became the ambassador for Martinellis! This glamorous launch party at Amare Palace Gardens in Nsambya, Kampala, Uganda, was the perfect setting to announce her new role.

Sheilah’s excitement was palpable as she expressed her pride in representing Martinellis, a champagne brand that oozes truthfulness and expressiveness. She joined an elite group of celebrities like Diamond Platnumz and Bonamg Matheba who have partnered with the brand, and we can’t wait to see the magic she brings! The event was a sensory delight, with three new products making their debut in sleek Gold Luxe, Rosey, and Green packaging. Renowned Ugandan singer Desire Luzinda made a triumphant return to her home country, launching her new NGO, Desire Luzinda Foundation International (DLFI), on June 5th, 2021. The foundation aims to expand her philanthropic efforts, leveraging her fame and success to drive positive change.

The launch event, coordinated by Bryan Morel Publications (BMP) and produced by Fenon Records, was a resounding success. Held at the Kampala Serena Hotel, the VIP dinner attracted over 500 guests, including esteemed figures such as Hon. Amelia Kyambadde, Hon. Miria Matembe, and Hon. Nyeko Derick.
Desire Luzinda’s foundation seeks to address critical issues affecting local communities, with a focus on education, livelihood, agriculture, and cultural exchange. Through her organization, she has already made a significant impact, particularly at the Uplift Children’s Center in Lungujja, Kampala, where she has been a patron and regularly organizes outreaches to donate essential items.
